One of my favorite areas of play is the school guidance counselor's office. This is a place where a school counselor and a student have a neutral area to built trust and friendship. Using play in this setting engages children, enabling open dialogue and creating a relaxed space for the child who needs a little time away from the class.
Check out the online catalog to see the variety of tactile, calming, and fidgit toys. Puppets and family sets are also popular in the school setting. I have exhibited regularly at the Texas Counselor Association (TCA) conference, and the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA) conferences for Elementary, Middle and High Schools. I have also exhibited at the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) conference in Portland, Oregon.
